Dinner For 11 = A Flatware Set for 12
I had 11 people coming to dinner last night (it would have been 12, but my sister can’t get a boyfriend). Since 11 people doesn’t represent a normal flatware set size (they don’t sell sets in odd numbered place settings), I needed to get out my flatware set for 12.
While I had many nice flatware sets for 8, I only had one flatware set for 12. Previously I had purchased the 49 pc stainless steel flatware set from our flatware set store. This was a great deal because it gave me an entire flatware set for 12 people for under $50 (what a value!!!). I’ve been happy with this flatware set for 12 because it consists of 12 dinner forks, 12 dinner knives, 12 dinner spoons, 12 dessert spoons, and one ladle. I even used the ladle for some gravy that I made for some coconut rice pilaf!
College Friends Enjoying the Flatware
Our meal was a great time for some of my friends from college, their partners, and my single sister. I even got a few compliments on the flatware! To me this flatware set for 12 seems elegant, but I know that I only paid $50 for the entire set, so I feel really good to have had this type of impression without paying that much money.
How to Serve 12 People with the Right Flatware Set
My best friend Kyle’s girlfriend Tina asked me where I got the cool flatware set for 11. I explained to her that I have my own website that sells high quality flatware for low prices and told her that you can’t buy a flatware set for 11. I explained that flatware sets are only sold in even numbered sets, so you can have a flatware set for 1,2,4,6,8,10,12,14,etc… So to serve 11 people, you need to get at least a flatware set for 12.
You could also get a flatware set for more people. If you are regularly entertaining people, you don’t just need a flatware set for 12, you could also get a flatware set for 14 or a flatware set for 16 people. Think about your biggest annual gathering and then get a flatware set that will serve that number of people.
